The Art of Agility Training
One of the most important and yet not talked about components of life, sport and fitness is The Art of Agility training.
We must remember that most sports come from an aspect of life that someone thought ” Hey I know, I can make a game out of that! We played games that we made up out of nothing. Just for fun and we didn’t realise that we were not only having fun but working on our agility and fitness.
For example, Dodge Ball, is just an enemy throwing a rock (or ball) at you. A Flat running race could come from running away from a dinosaur over rugged terrain. Lots of agility needed for this for sure.
Unfortunately though, is that there is no agility needed in using a phone or computer ! The Art of Agility Training might be lost if we continue to use these lifestyle devises.
Sports such as tennis, boxing, soccer, rugby, basketball and the list goes on, require a lot of agility. This is also required in normal life. For example: when crossing a road and a car whizzes past you, you will require agility to get out of the way quickly.
One of the best ways to improve agility is simply with an agility ladder. Look it up on Youtube, there are many set moves which can really make a difference and keep you agile. Agility can be improved via skipping, different running moves, jumping etc. There are so many everyday ways that we can all improve our agility. This is not only important for everyday life but as we get older it becomes imperitive.
So off you go. Get on the first rung !
