What is Metabolism
It’s interesting that there are so many diets that promise the world. So if they all “Work”, then why are there so many of them ? Surely they can’t all work. So what is Metabolism?
Different kinds of diets
Lets name just a few:-
Atkins, Paleo, 5:2, Keto, The Soup Diet, Lemon detox and then there are the Multi Level Marketing ones that sell you a load of supplements that cost a small fortune and tell you that
The truth is, that non of these diets work, because they all deprive the body of something. ie: You can’t have this or that type of food bla bla bla and that they will lower the Metabolism.
How Metabolism works
The metabolism is the Rate of which food is burnt off. The fitter you are, the faster you metabolise. Diets don’t focus on fitness, they focus on cutting food out so that you will have less energy which means that you will move around less, which means your fitness declines.
As I just said, the fitter you are the faster your metabolism becomes therefore you burn off more fuel which not only makes you leaner but the condition of your heart, lungs, cells and blood also improve.
You will require more to eat if you have a faster metabolism, this is because you burn food off quicker. I don’t know about you but I like food and I thing it’s a great thing! Eating is like putting petrol in your car or lighting a fire place. The more the fire burns the fuel, the more you have to replace the fuel that has been burnt off. If you don’t replace the fuel then the fire goes out. What you want in your body is an efficient fuel burner. Fat is a fuel, so the fitter you are, the more fat you burn, evn in your sleep. This beats all dieting.
I often tell my students and clients to think like a sports person. Sports people don’t try to look good, they look good as a result of them training. They train hard to be good at their event, consequently they burn off fat and look amazing.
Weight training and cardio
A mixture of weight training and Cardio will raise your metabolism and the hoarder you train, the faster you metabolism becomes. Of course, good nutrition helps a lot, but food does not raise your metabolism, exercise does.
So what you need to do is to move around more, burn off the fat, replace it with good nutrition and exercise hard !!
